Morehouse is the son of Eloise and John Morehouse.〔(Tim Morehouse ), USA Fencing. Accessed July 23, 2012.〕 He grew up in the Riverdale section of the Bronx in New York City. He originally took up fencing at Riverdale Country School in order to be excused from gym class.〔 In high school, he played on the Riverdale Country School's baseball team all four years and was a member of the cross country running team for one year.〔Wolfer, Sondra.
